{"id":1167,"date":"2012-03-10T08:15:57","date_gmt":"2012-03-10T13:15:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/netcommissioner.com\/askandy\/?p=1167"},"modified":"2012-03-10T08:19:03","modified_gmt":"2012-03-10T13:19:03","slug":"issue-296-march-10-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/netcommissioner.com\/askandy\/2012\/03\/issue-296-march-10-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Issue 296 &#8211; March 10, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>NYLT Leadership Academy Special Issue<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rule No. 63: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u201cCo-leaders\u201d who agree to share 100% of the responsibilities will each accomplish 10%.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Good morning Andy,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The BSA National Leadership Development Committee has approved the national promotion of the Northeast Region\u2019s NYLT Leadership Academy program (formerly YSDC\u2014Youth Staff Development Camp\u2014designed to provide the same youth staff development experiences that used to be the foundation of the NJLIC\u2014National Junior Leader Instructor Course\u2014at Philmont).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You and all other NYLT-involved or interested Scouters are cordially invited to visit Camp Snyder this coming July to see first hand what the NYLT Leadership Academy offers councils for the development of their council-based NYLT youth staffers. In addition, there\u2019s a scholarship program available to Scout participants from councils that haven\u2019t sent Scouts to the program in prior years: Send two Scout participants and the second Scout\u2019s $350 fee is waived! (See the website for details.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please spread the \u201cword\u201d among your Scouting colleagues who are involved with NYLT. We\u2019re a direct descendant of the National Junior Leader Instructor Camp (NJLIC) previously offered at Philmont Scout Ranch, and the Train-The-Trainer courses originally delivered at Schiff Scout Reservation.  You can find the NYLT Leadership Academy at http:\/\/www.NYLT-LeadershipAcademy.org\/.<\/p>\n<p>NYLT Leadership Academy uses the NYLT syllabus and course content to help participants learn presentation skills and servant leadership through receiving and providing feedback every day.  Midweek, participants hike Washington D.C. making presentations in formal settings. Participants return to their courses with additional knowledge, leadership skills, confidence, and unparalleled enthusiasm.
