PACKS, TROOPS REBEL AGAINST BSA \u201cUNIT UNIFORM\u201d POLICY.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

In a remarkable display of solidarity against the BSA\u2019s new policy that jeans, Dockers, cut-offs, and \u201cbaggies\u201d can be worn at all pack and troop meetings, and outings too, Scouts and leaders alike refuse to give up their Scout pants.\u00a0 \u201cBSA-issue pants only at Blue-and-Gold\u2019s and Courts of Honor? Nonsense!\u201d said Scoutmaster Fargus Chortleman. \u201cWe\u2019re not gonna give up wearing our full uniforms at every meeting and camp-out!\u201d he declared.\u00a0 Units around the country have Twittered his rebellion. It\u2019s gone viral!<\/strong><\/p>\n

BOARDS OF REVIEW APPROVED FOR RE-TESTING SKILLS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Bowing to troops\u2019 demands for holding Scouts to higher standards, the BSA has approved the re-testing of all previously-learned Scout skills at all boards of review.\u00a0 \u201cYes, a Life-rank board of review might take two or more hours, but it\u2019s worth the extra effort,\u201d affirmed Committee Chair Charlie Leerkopf.\u00a0 \u201cOur troop produces better Eagles than if we just followed the BSA\u2019s \u2018minimum requirements\u2019,\u201d added Advancement Chair Armando Nadacervello.<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW \u201cFASHION-FORWARD\u201d DESIGNER DEN LEADER TOPS. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

After a thorough research study with women volunteers, the BSA has contracted with Vera Wang to produce the new alternative \u201cconvertible\u201d tops for female Den Leaders.\u00a0 These new tops, available in \u201conce size fits all,\u201d can be worn eight different ways, from sunny \u201chalter\u201d style to sophisticated wraps and casual ties.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ELECTED YOUTH SCOUT LEADERS A THING OF THE PAST.<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOnly a seasoned Scoutmaster really knows who the \u2018true\u2019 youth leaders of a troop are,\u201d says Monty Moronski, BSA Youth Leadership Advisor.\u00a0 Following on Mr. Moronski\u2019s in-depth analysis, effective immediately the BSA recognizes that troop and patrol elections are merely \u201cpopularity contests,\u201d and has approved the new policy that all Patrol Leaders and Senior Patrol Leaders will be appointed by their all-knowing Scoutmasters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

EAGLE PROJECT COMPLETION TIME EXTENDED<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Facing stiff competition by sports, academics, dating, religious obligations, cars, texting, and social media, the BSA is extending the time required to complete Eagle projects to age 35.<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW MEN\u2019S BOWIE KNIVES AVAILABLE AT SCOUTSTUFF.ORG<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Understanding that \u201ca guy\u2019s just gotta carry something big and dangly off his belt,\u201d the BSA has approved the sale of 2-pound, 18-inch Bowie-style sheath knives for all adult volunteers.\u00a0 Not available for youth, in order to preserve a \u201cwe can do it\u2014you can\u2019t\u201d philosophy, this new knife comes with either a hand-tooled sheath for the \u201cmacho\u201d effect, a fringed leather sheath for a more \u201csurvivor-type\u201d look, and a stainless steel mesh sheath for that \u201cmetro\u201d look, all at no difference in price.\u00a0 Get yours today!<\/strong><\/p>\n

TRI- AND QUAD-LEVEL SCOUTERS\u2019 HATS FOR SALE.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBoys too young to be Tiger Cubs still need Scouting, and parents need baby-sitters sooner,\u201d says the BSA.\u00a0 That\u2019s why the new pre-school program, dubbed \u201cHuggy-Bunny Scouts\u201d has been taken beyond piloting and will become an official BSA program starting soon nationwide.\u00a0 Designed for diaper-trained toddlers, the program importantly has no parental involvement at all\u2014Den Leaders will do everything, parents can just drop off their little bundles and Scouting will happen like magic. <\/strong><\/p>\n

POPCORN OUT, BEANIE BABIES IN.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

While popcorn will remain the mainstay fund-raising product for Cub Scout-aged boys, Boy Scouts and Venturers will be selling a new line of Beanie Baby plush animals.\u00a0 The new line will include collectors\u2019 specials, including \u201cMr. Penguin-with-a-Mohawk,\u201d \u201cMs. Mama Aardvark,\u201d \u201cBaby Grizzly Bear,\u201d and \u201cTattooed Tarantula.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW MERIT BADGES APPROVED<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
